WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT / CANCELLATION POLICY?

PAYMENT AT REGISTRATION:
Here at Red Fox Tactical training we conduct business by filling class spots and all though unavoidable conflicts may arise, we have enacted the following policy due to student no call / no shows. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but students failure to show up for class, especially a full class, costs our organization and its affiliates a great deal of money each year. As such we require each & every student to read this policy in order to complete registration. In order to ensure that all students have fully read our policies, students are required to check a box stating that they have read this policy upon registration.

NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OR FULL TUITION IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER: Class tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE, however all tuition credits are transferable (one time only, please see details below). Tuition credits are redeemable for one calendar year. Unused tuition credits DO NOT carry over to the next calendar year. Please understand there may be additional Range/Venue/Equipment fees associated with a class cost. Be sure to read the course description & registration information in full when signing up for training. Individuals who pay with a deposit will owe the remainder of class balance to be payed by or at the beginning of class. STUDENTS WHO HAVE REGISTERED WITH A DEPOSIT THAT FAIL TO SHOW UP FOR CLASS, WILL BE INVOICED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE BALANCE. Failure to settle an outstanding balance will result in the student being barred from attending future training events with Red Fox Tactical until the balance is paid.

TARDINESS POLICIE:
Life happens, and we understand there are many ungovernable reasons that may cause an individual to be late for class. However, it is the student’s responsibility to plan ahead to make sure that they are in attendance when their designated course is scheduled to begin. All students are required to be present for the Safety & Medical Briefing that take place at the beginning of each class. INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT PRESENT FOR THE SAFETY & MEDICAL BRIEFING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO HANDLE A FIREARM AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND IN ANY PORTION OF LIVE FIRE OPERATIONS OR PARTICIPATE IN SKILL SET EVALUATIONS. This is non-negotiable. Students who do not attend the Safety & Medical briefing will be allowed to attend class as an observer only.

TUITION CREDIT TRANSFERS:
If you contact Red Fox Tactical with a minimum of 15 DAYS PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF CLASS, we will work with you to transfer your class tuition / deposit to another course of your choice within the calendar year. We will reassign tuition credits only ONCE (no exceptions). Please make sure you are eligible to attend a class before you register. A student who fails to contact Red Fox Tactical less then 15 days prior to the start of class with a desire to cancel, will have all deposit/tuition funds forfeited . Students are welcome to gift / give / or sell your spots to individuals who have all required prerequisites. It is the students responsibility to show for class or have a qualified person fill an assigned seat.

When you register to attend a class with Red Fox Tactical Training, you are making an agreement with us that you have reserved a seat in our class and that you are committed to showing up on time and prepared for class. On behalf of this agreement it is the obligation of Red Fox Tactical is to provide a clean & safe learning environment and ensure each registered student has an open seat awaiting them. We will always live up to this agreement we have made. If you do not show up for class, your spot was there, you were not. As such, there will be no refunds issued because you could not live up to your end of the agreement. If you paid only a deposit, you will be required to pay the balance even if you did not attend training.

WHAT IS THE HOSTED CLASS DEPOSIT / PAYMENT POLICY?

Red Fox Tactical brings in many outside organizations and educators from all over the state to share their knowledge with others. Snagging a spot and then not showing up not only costs RFT and the Hosted School money, but it also takes a seat away from a student who could have otherwise attended said training opportunity. To make sure that we are not wasting finite spots in classes , this is our policy on NON-RFT RAN CLASSES:

HOSTED CLASS DEPOSIT / PAYMENT POLICY: All seats are reserved with a deposit or full tuition payment. Once you register and pay, you now have a seat reserved in class. Remaining tuition and venue/range fees are due at the start of the class paid via cash or credit. All transactions are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE to any other class. Students unable to attend class may transfer your seat in the class to another person by emailing us with the replacement persons name and contact information.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT & FAILURE TO SHOW FOR CLASS:  If you register for a seat in class and fail to show for class you will be invoiced for the remaining balance. It is the student’s responsibility to transfer, sell, or gift their spot and deposit to another person. FAILURE TO PAY AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE WILL RESULT IN A TEMPORARY BAN FROM ATTENDING ANY RFT TRAINING UNTIL THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE IS PAID.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY: Any class cancelled by Red Fox Tactical or the hosted organization will result in a full refund of all payments to registered students. This policy is in place to ensure that our guests who travel a long way to teach with us are properly compensated for their time and travel.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND TRAINING WITH RFT?

MEDICAL / TECHNICAL RESCUE TRAINING: Individual course prerequisites can be found in the course description located in the services section. At a minimum, all students must show up to class with a valid State-Issued I.D. and an attituded to learn.

DEFENSIVE FIREARM TRAINING: Red Fox Tactical offers several intermediate and advanced firearm training courses. Individuals who wish to attend firearm related training must provide a valid State-Issued I.D. and one of the following; RFT basic pistol training certificate, Concealed Pistol License, Law Enforcement Credentials. Students must also meet all course prerequisites. You must be willing to learn and be a member of a team. We do not tolerate behavior that does not represent responsibly-armed citizens.

RFT ADVANCED / SPECIALTY LIVE-FIRE TRAINING COURSES: Students will be required to pass the basic-level qualifier with the firearm they will be utilizing in class. (These skills are taught in all RFT beginner foundation classes) Failure to pass will result in 1 remediation attempt. If the remediation qualifier is not passed, the student WILL be dismissed from class. All deposits and tuition will be forfeited. It is the students obligation to ensure that they meet the course minimum prerequisites and have the skill set to attend training.

TRAINING CERTIFICATES FROM THIRD- PARTY ORGANIZATIONS: Red Fox Tactical does not recognize training certificates from third party organizations. This does not imply that your previous training was not of worth while, however at Red Fox Tactical we have very high training standards. This policy is in place for two primary reasons: First, our curriculum is designed to follow a tier training system in order to facilitate educational building blocks. This promotes our students to build on the lessons from the previous tiers before advancing to the next tier. In order to get the most from your time with us, you are encouraged to take our courses in order. Secondly, Red Fox Tactical has incredibly high control and safety standards. Unfortunately these standards are not shared by many other firearm & technical training companies. As students progress through course tiers the standards never change, but the level of required control and supervision does. This allows us to make sure that all students in class with you posses the minimum skillset and fundamental grasp of RFT safety standards.

DO I NEED TO BE A RESIDENT OF MICHIGAN TO ATTEND TRAINING WITH RFT?

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A RESIDENT OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN IN ORDER TO ATTEND TRAINING. YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES (GREEN CARD HOLDER) IN ORDEER TO TRAIN WITH RED FOX TACTICAL.

Si bien no necesita hablar inglés con fluidez para tomar una clase de Red Fox tactical, DEBE tener una comprensión completa del idioma inglés para asistir a CUALQUIER clase de armas de fuego.

(While you do not need to speak English fluently to take an RFT class, you MUST have a complete understanding of the English language to attend ANY firearms classes.)

ARE THERE ANY OTHER REASONS THAT MAY INABLE ME FROM ATTENDING TRAINING WITH RFT?

THE SHORT ANSWER IS, NO: Red Fox Tactical to the best of our ability, will attempt to accommodate all individuals regardless of physical limitations. However, personal physical limitations that hinder students from accomplishing physicals tasks or have otherwise been deemed unsafe to continue, will stop course progression. Please read all course details to ensure you are capable of attending the course of your choice.

EXCEPTION: Michigan statues have determined it illegal for individuals with a criminal background and certain misdemeanors from owning, possessing, or handling a firearm. For more information on Michigan’s most current firearm statues we encourage prospective students to visit the Michigan State Police on their website at https://www.michigan.gov/msp/-/media/Project/Websites/msp/legal/INDEX_FIREARM_LAWS_OF_MICHIGAN.pdf?rev=94951427e5f44b109d030acae39c5c03

DISCRIMINATION POLICY:   Red Fox Tactical does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender (expression), age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

WHAT ARE THE PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS TO TRAIN WITH RFT?

To the best of our ability, Red Fox Tactical will attempt to provide reasonable accommodations when available. RFT requires all students who wish to attend training to have the mental capacity & physical strength in order to safely operate training equipment. Individuals attending any firearm related training, must be able to safely hold, carry, and manipulate their firearm without* assistance. (If you have a rifle that you can’t lift or a handgun you cannot pull the slide back on, we recommend you attend a less physically demanding training course in order to develop the required physical skillset)

WHAT GEAR DO I REQUIRE TO ATTEND TRAINING?

TRAIN WITH WHAT YOU CARRY:
A simple rule of thumb “If you are not willing to train with it, then you are not prepared to fight with it“. Here at Red Fox Tactical we echo the fraise “Train the way you fight – fight the way you train“. We often observe students arrive to class with a full-sized semi-auto, train with it, and then take it off at the end of the day and holster a revolver. We know that there are disadvantages to shooting, carrying, manipulating some firearms out there, but if you trust your life to it, then you must train with it.

PROHIBITED GEAR:
We want our students to “train with what they use” so we attempt to allow the use of most equipment. However there are some mandatory safety-specific policies that we have set in place for all students & Instructors. These policies are non-negotiable. If you have ANY questions, please don’t hesitate to contact RFT staff for more information.

HOLSTERS:
RFT requires that students use a holster made for the SPECIFIC FIREARM MODEL (Not a generic-fit floppy “Uncle Mikes” type holster) that will retain the weapon through all types of activities. We allow passive or active retention holsters however if your holster works through active retention, (a thumb-strap or other method) you will be required to use that feature when holstering your weapon on the line. Here are some other gear/holster criteria for training with us:

  • Shoulder Holsters, Cross Draw Holsters and Small of the Back Holsters are NOT allowed.
  • Approved holsters are OWB (Outside the Waistband) or IWB (Inside the Waistband) worn on the strong side or AIWB (Appendix Carry) that allow for one-handed drawing AND holstering of the firearm. (Holsters that require a user to pinch them open to holster a firearm or require the user to grab the holster with their support hand while drawing are NOT allowed).
  • Weapon retention Levels l-4 are permitted in class. All holsters must have a minimum weapon retention level of 1.
  • Drop-Leg Holsters are permitted as long as they provide the same level of weapon retention as listed above.

Your holster MUST be fixed to a belt that is mounted to your pants utilizing belt loops. You may not clip a holster to clothing that is secured to your person by elastic stretch band i.e. sweat pants/athletic shorts. You can set yourself up to carry as close to the way you normally do while meeting our holster/belt/pants requirement and then take what you learn in class and practice 100% as you normally carry on your own time. The allowed exception to this is Law Enforcement style duty/”Battle Belts” but the holster must be still hard-mounted to those belts.

  • AIWB carry is just fine. If you carry this way, have a quality holster and understand the gravity of the consequence of failure if you are unsafe drawing or holstering the handgun.
  • Pocket carry, ankle carry, and other holster exceptions can be approved in a written request to RFT via email. A copy of that email must be presented to the lead instructor at the beginning of class.

Regarding SERPAs or Like-Holsters: holsters are a bad idea, and most often they are cheap and poorly made. If you use a holster with a trigger-finger release retention system, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure your trigger finger stays out of the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. As long as the holster safely retains your firearm while worn strong-side we allow it. As a grown adult, it is your responsibility to utilize the retention system safely and you will be held accountable for your actions and gear choices. Your holster MUST completely cover the Trigger of your firearm when holstered.

Your holster MUST allow you to get a full firing grip on the handgun WHILE IT IS IN THE HOLSTER. If your holster makes you “pluck” the gun up with a few fingers before getting a proper grip on it then it is not allowed.

LONG GUNS:
Long guns (Rifles & Shotguns) MUST have a manual safety and a trigger that has not been modified by anyone other than a certified gunsmith. Binary Triggers and Registered Full Auto Guns ARE NOT ALLOWED. We do support your right to own and operate these firearms, however not in class.

AR PISTOLS: AR15, AK74 and Similar “Pistol Models” may be used in our Long Gun courses. They may NOT be used in our handgun classes. We are not the ATF, it is your responsibility to make sure your firearm is on the up to date with all silly state, federal, & local laws etc.

.22 CALIBER FIREARMS:
We know that sometimes all you can find to shoot is .22 ammo OR you choose to carry/own a .22. If you wish to use a .22 handgun or a rifle/rifle conversion in .22 you are more than welcome to. PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately these firearms are generally more prone to stoppages than centerfire guns and we WILL NOT hold up a class if your firearm cannot make it through the class due to constant issues.

WHAT IF RED FOX TACTICAL MUST CANCEL CLASS?

Red Fox Tactical does everything possible to never cancel a scheduled class but on the rare occasion, it does happen. All correspondence regarding class changes, update, or cancellations will be sent to the email address you provide at registration. Please ensure emails from Redfoxtacticaltraining@gmail.com will not be sent to a junk / spam filter.

If RFT cancels a class PRIOR TO THE DAY OF CLASS for any reason or class is CANCELLED THE DAY OF CLASS PRIOR TO CLASS START due to environmental issues (lightning, etc.), all students will receive a full refund. If we are force to stop a class that is IN PROGRESS for any safety reasons due to weather conditions, etc., RFT will work to get students into the same class free of charge in the future on a case-by-case basis.

PLEASE NOTE: We train in most weather conditions. Just because its’s cold, snowing, muddy, rainy, hot, etc. we will not stop class. These are normal weather phenomenon’s in Norther Michigan. Only when conditions exist that pose a threat to student safety will class be cancelled.

WHAT IS AN EGO-FREE ZONE?

Our training courses are EGO-FREE at all times. This means that we do not tolerate any one putting down another student due to a lack of training & experience or for their performance in the class room setting. You are at our class to improve your individual skills, not race other students. This is not to say that our classes are stress-free, as we work to expand the comfort zone of our students in order to advance their individual skill set. We want all students to leave our class having built upon their competence & confidence.

WILL I RECIEVE A CERTIFICATE AFTER MY CLASS?

Yes. Once a student has successfully passed a training course with RFT, you will receive a certificate of course completion recognized by Red Fox Tactical, as well as any additional organization’s affiliated with that particular course.

REQUESTING A COPY / REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATE: Yes. Upon request we will issue a replacement certificate for an additional fee of $5 per print. Please send us an email with your full name, the class you attended, including class date & time, we will then verify with our records and email you a PDF certificate.

CAN MINORS ATTEND TRAINING?

Yes, minors are permitted to attend certain RFT training courses as long as all required student criteria is met.

MEDICAL / FIRST AID TRAINING: Those between the age of 10 and 18 may participate in medical and first aid related training so long as they have written permission & consent from a legal guardian and can demonstrate the required meatal and physical capacity in order to attend class.

DEFENSIVE FIREARM TRAINING: Those between the age of 15 and 18 may participate in RFT firearm related classes as long as their parent or legal guardian is also taking the class. If a minor is under 15 years of age, permission must be granted by RFT.

Note: For all RFT firearms classes, young participants get absolutely no slack when it comes to our standards on personal safety & responsibility that we expect from all students when it comes to their adherence to the Four Golden Rules of Responsible Gun Handling. Parents need to ensure that minors meet all course prerequisites prior to registering their minor child for a RFT training course.

WHAT IF I AM NOT A MINOR (OVER 18) BUT CAN NOT YET APPLY (UNDER 21) FOR A CPL ?

Great question. We think it is absolutely ridiculous that you can vote, go to war, own & carry a gun openly, yet need to wait until you have met the minimum age of 21 in order to conceal your last line of defense to protect you and your loved ones. All you need to do is fill out and sign (in the presence of a notary) and bring to class our non-CPL declaration. You can find that here: https://trainmdfi.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/MDFI-NonCPL-Delaration.pdf.
